SMALLWORLD NRM – ALWAYS UP TO DATE
The standard modules for electricity, gas, water, sewerage and district heating from GE, Mettenmeier and ITS are the result of over 30 years of development in direct consultation with users, as well as experience gained from more than 45 years of network data collection in the energy and water sectors. This is precisely why these standardised data models are among the most successful GIS products internationally.

Support for regulatory frameworks
The development of the specialist modules across all sectors is carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the relevant associations, such as the German VDE-AR-N 4201, DVGW GW 120, and the AGFW and DWA regulations. Furthermore, the specialist modules are based on common standards such as DIN 2425 and CIM.
Current requirements from regulatory authorities within the Energy Industry Act and from industry associations are also taken into account in further development to provide the best possible support for regulatory management. The route analysis and network statistics modules included in the specialist module standard collect GIS-relevant information, such as line lengths, connection rates or network complexity, and process this data. The standard fault statistics module provides the functions required for the reporting obligation in the event of supply disruptions.
Practical knowledge from the SWUG working groups: Working on the GIS standard
The specialist modules have been continuously developed since 2002 in collaboration with the Smallworld User Group (SWUG) working groups. Working closely with users, current requirements from practical experience and regulatory frameworks are defined, specified and incorporated into the software standard. This gives the specialist modules a level of subject-matter expertise and practical relevance that is unique in this form.
300+ customers worldwide
As a user, the industry-specific NRMs provide you with software that is used by numerous companies worldwide. This means that, unlike with bespoke solutions, the development costs are spread across a broad base. Whether for maintenance or system upgrades, the industry-specific modules always offer a more cost-effective alternative to bespoke solutions.
