Smallworld NRM
NRM Gas
Smallworld NRM Gas provides the basis for the efficient and comprehensive documentation of complex gas distribution networks in accordance with industry standards. Mirroring the real world, the application maps all assets with their graphical and attribute characteristics – right down to the inner workings of pressure regulation systems or schematic layout representations.
Daily planning tasks are also optimally supported by the topological integration of planned systems and assets.
Last but not least, the module serves as a vital foundation for network operation processes, whether for spatial orientation, data retrieval or as a decision-making aid in asset management.
Network Logic and Data Model
The Smallworld standard module ‘NRM Gas’ maps the gas flow from the feed-in point or transfer point to the consumption points and their metering locations. As in the real world, a distinction is made between topologically separate pressure levels:
- High pressure
- Medium pressure
- Low pressure
The topological relationship between high-, medium- and low-pressure networks is managed via a gas pressure regulating station. Service pipes are connected to the low- and medium-pressure pipes via a branch.
Through a wide range of object classes, their interrelationships and the associated network topology, the data model supports all requirements for future-oriented gas network documentation. Individually configurable catalogues ensure a high degree of flexibility and data quality.
In addition to an overview plan and a detailed as-built plan, NRM Gas also offers comprehensive management and visualisation of internal plant layouts and schematic plans with a uniform object reference. Higher-level objects such as pressure zones, measures and network areas are also available. Added to this is 3D capability through the recording of 3D points for assets and the resulting longitudinal section views.
To meet the requirements of industry standards, the Gas module allows the geographical elevations of house connections to be mapped.
A fully developed Process model for your gas network data
NRM Gas provides you with a wide range of tools for efficient network management, such as a wizard for recording service connections and a variety of dimensioning functions and output options.
The analysis functions are equally well thought out, such as those for determining supply routes, identifying unserved connections, or colour-coding materials.
The Gas module integrates seamlessly into a multi-utility environment alongside the other standard Smallworld modules.
Smallworld Network Statistics
Network structure data must be reported to the Federal Network Agency and published. You can generate this data using the Smallworld Network Statistics module, which is part of the NRM Gas module. It contains the modules Network Statistics (number of supply points, lengths of pressure networks, number of stations), Route Analysis (lengths of routes), and Network Complexity (radial, ring and mesh networks). These queries are deliberately designed to be simple and are largely self-explanatory for GIS users.
